“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” - Marie Curie, chemist, physicist, first woman to win the Nobel Prize (and then did it again)

  • 14k white gold
  • pale blue 7mm aquamarine
  • circa 1925 - 1935
  • currently a size 3

Derived from the Latin word for seawater, aquamarine has been held in high regard for thousands of years. There are countless stories of aquamarine originating from the treasure chests of mermaids, lending its use as a sailor's good luck talisman. In ancient Greece, seamen would carry the light blue clear gem with them to ward of dangerous journeys. This Art Deco ring features a multi-faceted aquamarine that is the prettiest shade of sky blue. The filigree work on the setting and shoulders is equally as beautiful and in great condition.
